On the plus side, I constantly learn from my students. Let me share with you a few of the gems I've picked up today from them.
- All plants have the same shape because they're descended from a common ancestor - seeds.
- Wearing glasses changes your DNA.
- Tatoos are caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria. [I'm still scratching my head over this one.]
- We have disease-resistant drugs, which change over time. [Also perplexing.]
- If there were intelligent life in the universe, there would be amino acids on Mars.
- Carbon isotopes are visible to the naked eye.
- It is not actually necessary to read a question before attempting to answer it.
- I am a total failure as a teacher. [sigh]
